Is this a good Snowboard setup for a beginner?

Posted: September 28th, 2009 | Author: admin | Filed under: Mens Snowboarding Pants | 1 Comment »

I’m planning to go out and learn some Snowboarding this winter. Im going to go once or twice and see if I like it and then Im planning on ordering some gear for myself. This is the list I have and I was wondering if anyone can give me any suggestions, if its good, or have any reviews on the products?

Just for info, im 17, and im 6 feet 4 inches so this stuff is kinda big haha. Thanks

List:

Boots:

Snowboard:

Bindings:

Pants:

I have around 700 to spend and the total comes somewhere close to that. Thanks again for any info.

that is nice stuff and great for a beginner. burton would be the best brand. if your ok with spending that much money then buy it but you might want to wait and just rent the board bindings and boots to see if you like snowboarding and you should think abouthow often you will go snowboarding.if your still growing a lot then you will grow out of all that stuff and need all new gear in a year or two.

i’m a girl and im like 5′11. so my legs are pretty long. does anyone know where i can find tall snowboard pants?

should i just get mens medium because those may fit lengthwise but just not width wise.

Well you can find pants here

As for the size a medium length should fit your length, The rest depends on how big your waist is.

are these snowboarding pants ok for streetwear too? http://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/product.asp?path=Search&path=Mens+Pants&search_handle=A%3dMens+Pants%7eB%3dMens+Pants%7eD%3d36%7eE%3d1%5e1%5e2%5enum_Sort1%7eK%3d4%7eL%3d1%7eM%3d9%7e&scid=SearchResults&pf_id=10037392&spoffset=2&s_id=0

If you like… I wear snowboard pants after a day on the hill when I have stuff to do on the way home. I very rarely get funny looks from people – likely because it is clear that I am a snowboarder. I wouldn’t wear them if I wasn’t on the way to or from the hill though. It is up to you.

snowboard pants, what ones should i get?

i need a new pair of snowboarding pants that are good and cheap. i am mens size 34

If you want quality it’s best to stay above 10k waterproofing and breathabillity, I usually don’t ride anything below 15k.

These sites usually have some good deals on gear.

Are the Foursquare Hoffman Pants good snowboarding pants?

http://www.dogfunk.com/dogfunk/FSQ0334/Foursquare-Hoffman-Pant-Mens.html -here are the pants
I ride about 7 or more times a season not including a big 2-7 day trip every year. I ride in PA unless I am on a trip. Will these pants keep me warm and dry? How do they compare to other brands? Also i know that pants with gore tex are the best but that’s not what i am looking for.

Hi again ;)

Yes those are great pants, 15,000/10,000 plus they’re insulated. Absolutely killer deal too, those are normally about $200.

I have the Baraveto’s, which are similar but no insulation and a I love them. Foursquares run fairly big so keep that in mind. I’m 6′5" 210lbs. and the large fit me just fine, plenty of length.

These pants will be completely waterproof for all intents and purposes unless you blatantly sit in puddles all day. Don’t worry about gore tex.

this is the link

I want either "true black" or "true black faded pinstrip" or the "burlap" color.

which one should i get?
btw, I plan to wear this not only for snowboarding.
thanks
I usually wear a yellow jacket on the outside, and a gray fleece on the inside. Occasionally when it gets warm, I take off the jacket.

black is out. standing out is in these days. get the comic ones or the pacific blues. trust me i live on the mountian.

What color snowboarding pants would look better?

I have a plain white snowboarding coat and i’m trying to decide which color pants to get. it is between two colors. The brown ones or the kaki ones.

I’d go with the white faded pinstripe ones with a white jacket.

hell yeah dude. Theyre not heavy and look hella mad. I rock board pants alot during the cold just to be different. as far as noise if im not going to be shreddin in them I remove the boot gaitors and theyre alot less noisy. the only ones i find too warm to just wear around are the insulated ones plus theyre padded to save your @$$. i only wear those kind on the hill.
