Hi, I’m going snowboarding for the first time tomorrow and I have a couple questions mainly about clothes for snowboarding.
Is it okay to wear a water resistant winter jacket (Columbia) over my fleece jacket (Columbia)? Will that provide enough warmth?
Is it okay to wear sweatpants underneath snowboard pants? Do you recommend something else?
What type of socks should I wear?
Thanks!!
Weather has a lot to do with how warm you need to dress. But generally since it is your first time you would probably be on your butt a couple of times down the slopes…Believe me we’ve all been there. Wear thermals tucked inside your pants. What I experienced is that although temperatures might seem warm during the day with light reflections on the snow don’t forget that the longer you are up the mountain and eating snow the more cold it will get. And being that you’ve been in the snow as the day goes on the colder it can get. Look into thermals (top and bottom) and some Wigwam or Burton socks specifically made for the snow.
i got a snowboarding jacket at a snowboarding convention. I can’t return it, but it seems like it’s a bit big. When i tried it on at the place, it didn’t seem that big, but now it is. So, I’m just wondering for all you pro snowboarders out there, how well are Snowboarding Jackets suppose to fit? Is it okay to be slightly loose? Or does it have to be form fitting? (I’m a girl, so of course, girls are more into form fitting clothes, but i’m new at snowboarding clothing, So i’m just wondering) Thanks!
Better bigger than tight, I had a smaller jacket last year that looked good when I was just hangin around in it but throughout the season I realized how annoying it was, always riding up while I was rolling around on the hill lol. I got a bigger one for this year (one that I normally wouldn’t wear to go out in) and I like it
Hey guys I’m planning a trip to Tahoe for around 10-15 people on January18 thru the 20. I need lift tickets for one day but I need about 15 of them….I have a certain budget for this trip so getting cheap lift tickets would really help me out. I also would like to know how to get cheap Snowboarding Equipment (Gear, like clothes, snowboard, boots)
If you guys can help me out will be great…..
for lift tickets i would look on the mountains website sometimes theres promotional deals. as for equipment, if you dont have any its not really cheap to buy anything decent so you might be best off renting equipment for the day

If you saw some one shredding some Monster outerwear it was probably some pro sponsored by them, a sticker, or someone sewed on the logo. Monster does NOT make outerwear at the moment.
