So I have always wanted to go snowboarding, when I was younger I always thought I would be really good at it, but never got to go. Now the guy Im with wants to go this winter, he says hes taken two girls there before and the were horrible at it…anyway is it easy to learn? Whats the hardest part about it? also what all gear should I buy besides the pants and coat? And, where are some good places to get reasonably priced boards and gear? & anything else I need to know would be great. Thanks!
Yes, snowboarding is hard at first but once you go down the hill a few times you start to learn and it gets fun.
The hardest part in my opinion would be stopping but you can learn how to stop very well if you have someone teach you.
First of all, you need a board i would suggest buying a used board if its your first time because they are very cheap but still good. The bindings usually come with a used board. You may also need snowboarding boots, but if your not too serious you can just use some normal winter boots.
I would suggest getting lessons before you start actually snowboarding, but if your not up for that you can just have a friend help you learn.
So that’s basically snowboarding in a nutshell. Take it easy on the slopes and have fun!
Personally, i wouldnt go spending hundreds of dollers to go snowboarding one time.
snowboarding is a very difficult sport to learn, its not like kicking a soccer ball.
You will fall, alot, you will get hurt, you will be scared. But after you learn its the best experience a person can enjoy .
When i snowboard i go into my own little world, everything gets quite and i kinda bond with my self [= . i talk to myself alot when i snowboard its weird but i love it.
Go to Kmart, buy some cheap gloves hat pants and jacket.
RENT a board and boots, dont spend 400$ on that gear if you are going for your first time. if you dont like it, your gonna regret spending the money.
Most people quit after their first time becasue of the difficulty , if you can balance well , and have patients and really want to learn . I have no doubt taht you will [=

Snowboarding has a really steep learning curve. I doubt on your first day up with him you’ll be able to ride enough to keep up. I don’t say that to discourage though, just so you know what you’re getting into. If you live near a mountain I’d go up for a day by myself and take some lessons to get a head start on it. When you go up with him take a lesson, don’t let him teach you – that could be really frustrating and annoying.
Don’t buy a board or boots or anything until you know you like snowboarding, it’s a lot of money just to impress him and try something new. Do get waterproof pants and a good winter jacket so that you’re not cold and wet while you’re learing.
